A Max for Live distortion device built around bipolar waveform processing

This device provides six distortion and saturation types that can be applied independently to the positive and negative halves of the waveform. By separating polarity processing, it allows harmonics, tone, and character to be shaped in ways that standard distortion devices cannot achieve.

Dual Polarity Distortion

Each side of the waveform can be driven and shaped differently, enabling subtle harmonic imbalance or extreme asymmetric distortion. This approach offers increased control over character, weight, and movement, particularly on basses, drums, and complex material.

Multiple Distortion Types

Six distinct distortion and saturation types are included, ranging from subtle waveform shaping to aggressive harmonic generation. Each type can be assigned independently to the positive and negative waveform polarities, allowing a wide range of asymmetric distortion behaviors from a single device.

Modulation

An internal LFO is included for drive modulation, making it possible to introduce motion and variation over time. Modulation can run freely or be tempo synced, supporting both subtle animation and rhythmic movement.

Requires Ableton Live 12 with a Max for Live license.
